Sale of homes to Foreigners fell by -3,2%

During the first half year, the sale of homes to foreigners fell by 3.2% to 51,720 homes sold. According to the data from the Consejo General del Notariado or the Association of Notaries, it is still the British, French and Germans who buy the most properties in Spain.

An 18.6% of all homes sold in Spain went to foreign owners. During the first six months of 2019, 51,720 properties were purchased in Spain by international buyers, a decrease of 3.2% compared to last year during the first half year. In total, 278,314 homes were purchased by all nationalities in the first half of 2019.

According to the data, in 41% of the cases there were purchases made by foreigners who are not registered in Spain while 59% of all foreign acquisitions were made by foreigners who are registered (residents) in Spain. However, we already know that second half year was a lot better, at least in Altea and surroundings! And we are very happy with that.
